Golf lessons can seriously improve your golf game, but this
does not necessarily mean you are going to enjoy the lessons –
especially at first.
If you have been golfing for a while and have gotten into some
bad habits along the way, it is quite possible that golf lessons
can be a trying time for you. The biggest reason is that the instructor
is going to have to completely take apart your swing and rebuild
it.
Getting over old habits is difficult, but if you allow the instructor
to teach you, you will soon be playing better and actually be
able to improve.
Going through the pains of completely rebuilding your swing and
your game can be avoided if you avoid getting into the bad habits
in the first place. This is one reason why it is often recommended
that beginning golfers shouldn’t simply pick up a club and
start hacking away.
Golf lessons can be pricey. If you want an instructor to follow
you and advise you during a round of golf, expect a hefty tab.
On the other hand, if you simply want 15-20 minutes of instruction
while on the driving range, you will pay much less.
Depending on how much you need to work on, you could be taking
lessons for a few months. But the time spent taking golf lessons
is often viewed as being an investment for the future and thereby
worth the expense.
